The 3,100-acre Buckeye Lake is designated as an unlimited horsepower lake, but pontoons, sailboats, canoes, and rowboats are also common. Nine launch ramps provide access to the lake and seasonal docks are available through a lottery system at Fairfield Beach. Contact the park office for more details. Local marinas offer fuel and other items for sale. Two boat/swim/camp areas are also available at Lieb’s Island and east of Cranberry Bog.
Buckeye Lake Boat Rental offers all the equipment you need to have fun at the lake! Choose from pontoon boats, 1- and 2-person kayaks for touring or for fishing, stand up paddle boards, open and closed reel fishing poles, and more.

Enjoy a paddlewheel tour boat excursion around Buckeye Lake via public tours, private tours, and exclusive Buckeye Lake Museum events.
Step back in time on a guided, historic tour around the shores of the 187-year-old Buckeye Lake. Its unique history includes its legacy as the first State Park in Ohio, the home of The Buckeye Lake Amusement Park, and all the glory it created, as well as playing an important role in the Ohio Canals. As the only Sternwheeler on any inland lake in Ohio, the Queen of the Lake III can accommodate up to 50 people on public and private tours and events. She has an onboard restroom and catering is available.
This was a 5-year restoration project completed by volunteers working with the Buckeye Lake Historical Society. All ticket sales are tax-deductible.

The two public swimming areas – Fairfield Beach on the south side of the lake and Crystal Beach on the north side of the lake – have parking and latrines. Beaches are open from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Swimming is permitted during daylight hours only.
Swim at your own risk.
Pets are NOT allowed on swimming beaches. BeachGuard — Water quality advisories, are available online from the Ohio Department of Health from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
Looking for easy access to the water? Look no further than the Thorn Township Canoe/Kayak Launch. Open from dawn to dusk, this launch is conveniently located on the southeast side of the lake and is wheelchair accessible.
This launch is also the first public boat access to Buckeye Lake in Perry County.
Under the proper conditions, park visitors can enjoy ice skating, cross-country skiing, ice fishing, and ice boating.
