Winterfest 2026 takes place on Saturday, January 31, bringing a full day of food, drinks, art, music, and small-town charm to the entire Buckeye Lake region.

The day begins at North Shore Park with the beloved Benny the Bass, Buckeye Lake’s weather-predicting fish. Will Benny take the bait and call for an early spring, or skip it and signal more winter ahead? Either way, it’s a fun and quirky way to kick off a packed day of celebration.

The Welcome Center will be a friendly starting point for exploring Buckeye Lake, offering ideas for things to do, places to eat and shop, upcoming events, and outdoor adventures — all with local insight from the Fairfield County Visitor & Convention Bureau.

Grand Finale: Polar Plunge — Sunday, February 1

The Winterfest weekend wraps up at Buckeye Lake Winery with the 12th Annual Polar Plunge at 11:00 AM. Brave participants dive into the icy waters of Buckeye Lake to raise money for the United Way Foundation.

Costume contests and prizes for individuals and teams

All registered plungers receive a free t-shirt (while supplies last). The festivities continue until 5:00 PM, making it a full day of fun for participants and spectators alike.
