Pigfoot Event Gallery Presents: Modern Appalachia

Rick Akers presents “Modern Appalachia,” a bold new series of paintings capturing the rural and small-town landscapes of Appalachia and documenting the historic beauty of Perry and surrounding counties. Blending elements of Cubism with rural subject matter, Rick simplifies form and uses color in unexpected ways to capture small-town alleys, outbuildings, historic homes, farms, and other familiar scenes of the region. Join The Pigfoot Inn at the Pigfoot Event Gallery on Sunday, October 18th, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. to view the new collection, meet local artist Rick Akers, and enjoy an open tour of The Pigfoot Inn. Light appetizers and beverages will be provided.
