Buckeye Lake Multipurpose Trail
Experience Buckeye Lake from a whole new perspective on the Buckeye Lake Multipurpose Trail. Stretching 4.1 miles from Liebs Island in Millersport to North Shore Park in the Village of Buckeye Lake, the paved trail follows the top of the historic Buckeye Lake Dam, connecting scenic lake views, parks, fishing access, waterfront dining, and local history.
Added as part of the Buckeye Lake Dam rehabilitation project completed in the late 2010s, the trail provides a safe and accessible way to explore the lake on foot or by bike. Interpretive signage at several trail access points shares the story of Buckeye Lake, from its canal-era origins to its evolution as one of Ohio’s favorite recreation destinations.
Along the route, you’ll find the Buckeye Lake Spillway, the Escape to Buckeye Lake Welcome Center, The Boatyard at Buckeye Lake, Dips Ice Cream, Hereinafter Cocktail Tavern and more. Want to explore on two wheels? 3XP Tours offers bike rentals at The Boatyard, making it easy to enjoy the trail without having to bring your own bike. At Crystal Beach in North Shore Park, self-service kayak rentals provide another fun way to experience Buckeye Lake from the water.
Whether you’re walking the entire trail, enjoying a bike ride, casting a fishing line, or simply taking in the views, the Buckeye Lake Multipurpose Trail offers one of the most memorable ways to experience Buckeye Lake.
