Good food, good drinks and good company are all part of the Buckeye Lake experience. Whether you’re looking for a casual meal after a day on the water, a cup of coffee to start your morning, something sweet, a local wine or a place to enjoy dinner and live music, there are plenty of ways to enjoy the local food scene.

To make exploring it a little easier, we’ve created the NEW Buckeye Lake Region Local Food Guide.

This guide brings together local restaurants, markets, pizza shops, grills, pubs, upscale dining, bakeries, coffee houses, ice cream shops, wineries, breweries and more throughout the Buckeye Lake Region and neighboring communities.

We’ve also added helpful tags throughout the guide to make planning your outing easier. Look for Pet Friendly, Serves Alcohol and Seasonal tags, along with an indicator for businesses that have a Facebook page, so you can easily find their latest updates, events and information.

Whether you’re planning a meal, looking for your next coffee stop or building an entire day around Buckeye Lake, there’s something to discover.

Tastes of Buckeye Lake

Start with Tastes of Buckeye Lake, where you’ll find the heart of the region’s local dining scene.

From local restaurants and markets to pizza shops, grills, pubs and upscale dining, this section brings together places to grab a meal and enjoy the local flavor of the Buckeye Lake Region.

Whether you’re looking for a quick bite, meeting friends for dinner or searching for somewhere new to try, you’ll find plenty of options to explore.

Sweets, Treats & Coffee Houses

Sometimes the best part of an outing is stopping for something sweet—or finding the perfect cup of coffee.

Sweets, Treats & Coffee Houses features local bakeries, coffee shops, ice cream shops and other places to satisfy your sweet tooth or grab a pick-me-up.

Make a morning coffee run, stop for an afternoon treat or find somewhere to enjoy dessert after dinner. However you like to indulge, there’s always another local favorite to discover.

Wineries & Breweries

Looking for somewhere to slow down, enjoy a local drink and make an afternoon of it? The Wineries & Breweries section highlights three local stops worth exploring: Buckeye Lake Winery, Vinberige Vineyards and Buckeye Lake Brewery.

Buckeye Lake Winery

Located on the southern shores of Buckeye Lake in Fairfield Beach, Buckeye Lake Winery offers a year-round destination for wine, food and fun. The winery features a full-service kitchen and large outdoor patio, making it a great place to settle in for a meal and enjoy the lake-area atmosphere.

The winery also hosts several annual events, including the upcoming 13th Annual Buckeye Lake Winery Songwriters Festival on October 3.

The winery uses grapes grown in California to produce its wines, creating a unique napa-valley winery experience in Central Ohio.

Vinberige Vineyards

Just east of Thornville along SR 204, Vinberige Vineyards offers a beautiful vineyard experience surrounded by the rolling hills of Ohio.

The winery is housed in a historic farmhouse and features a large outdoor seating area, along with yard games that make it easy to settle in and enjoy an afternoon with friends.

Vinberige also hosts events throughout the summer and fall and is home to a beautiful wedding venue, making it a destination for both everyday visits and special occasions.

Buckeye Lake Brewery

Located along SR 79 in the Village of Buckeye Lake, Buckeye Lake Brewery is a local favorite for creative craft beers, ciders and a laid-back lakeside atmosphere.

Their craft beer lineup is full of personality, with many brews paying tribute to local lakeside attractions and events. The brewery also offers a great patio for enjoying a drink outdoors.

And if you’re hungry, you’re in luck—the brewery is conveniently located beside Chef Shack, making it easy to pair your drink with a meal or grab a bite before or after your visit.

Worth the Drive

Sometimes, a great meal or a new favorite spot is worth taking the scenic route.

Our Worth the Drive section expands beyond the immediate Buckeye Lake Region to highlight food and drink destinations in neighboring communities. From Granville and Newark to Somerset, Baltimore, and Lancaster, these are places that are a little farther out but worth adding to your plans.

If you’re already exploring the surrounding area—or simply looking for somewhere new to try—consider this your invitation to venture a little farther.

Make the Guide Work for You

The Local Food Guide isn’t just a list of places to eat and drink. We’ve added helpful details throughout the guide to help you find the right spot for your plans.
